If we can describe Dusty's life thus far in one word, it would be UNFAIR. She was born in an area where her mother was not taken care of and her littermates suffered. She and her remaining sister came to our shelter in July suffering from a bad case of mange, malnutrition and dehydration. The PAWS team, with the help of our vets and community donations got them through it. Dusty's sister was soon adopted, but Dusty was overlooked for quite some time.

She was finally adopted by a wonderful family and set out to live life on a farm. It was there that we discovered Dusty's prey drive for cattle and goats. She came back to the shelter after a few short weeks.

She was adopted again but was not given the opportunity to release any energy as all dogs need to do. She did very well with people and her new owner, but her home turned out to be not what was expected.

Dusty has returned to us once again. We are absolutely heartbroken for this girl. She is an absolute sweetheart, very intelligent. She gets along well with men, women and children and does well with other dogs. She does not have much experience with cats, she should not be around stray cats but may get used to indoor cats.

Dusty cannot be on property where she has access to cattle, goats or similar animals. She must live with a family that can exercise her regularly and give her the opportunity to get her energy out in constructive ways - not just by being in a yard. The right family for this girl is out there!

As an added bonus to Dusty's adoption, PAWS of Chinook is covering five training sessions with Hi-Line Canine, LLC to use as they see fit. If you feel like you are the right person for Dusty, please submit an application on our website. Thank you for your interest!
